Hi all,

So this weekend I am traveling to my parent's house and going to make a lamb cake.  My mother has bought a couple strawberry-flavored box mixes to use in the lamb mold.  I'm reading that sometimes the lamb cake falls apart when used with box mixes.  Has anyone had this experience?  I'd planned on doweling the head area for support.  Does anyone know a way to doctor a mix to make it more dense?

Usually I bake from scratch, but I also don't usually do 3D cake pans and I don't want to transport my ingrediants from home or buy more once arrived.

Thanks everyone!

the cake mix doctor has a great one i think

it's one cake mix, one pint of melted ice cream and three eggs

any flavors

make sure your melted pint measures a full 16 oz--some have a lot of air whipped in--make up the difference with some milk or cream

but it might work out great with today's lighter cake mixes

it's a nice 'more dense' texture
