In June, as a special gift for my brother in law's birthday, I will be making him a Walking Dead cake. It will be 2 square tiers, maybe silver/ gray fondant to look like concrete on the bottom tier, and buttercream "grass" on the top. My idea is to have Daryl, Rick and Shane on top pointing their weapons downward at the "walkers" (zombies) trying to climb the cake to get them. I have purchased the very expensive action figures already and noticed that there is no hole in the bottom of the foot so I can't use a normal stand :( How do I get these figures to securely stand on top of the cake? Help please!

I would use royal icing to glue them to a piece of cake board and then glue them to the cake with frosting, then cover the board.

Great idea, I'll experiment and see if that works :) Thanks!

you hold a dowel next to the leg and wrap them both around with wire--it would show a bit but it would stand up

you could cover some of the wire with piping if you wanted and could do it decoratively

or wrap some fondant around it

i'm not up on all the exact characters--but you could hide the wires in the scenery like in a bush & just think creatively

maybe one of them could be laying on his belly pointing down? or from behind a rock?

I could do that! I actually have the green floral wire and tape that I could use ;) I don't think they could be laying down, they're made for standing and don't think it would look right. I could disguise the wire with taller grass around the figure's feet. Thank you for the suggestions!

Thank you SO much for all your help everyone!! I ended up using the wire/ dowel idea because I didn't want it to move at all. It turned out PERFECT!! Here is a pic of the final result. :)
