What size pans?

I have a request to make this cake. What size pans would you use for this? I'm guessing a 6 in round and 10-in square? How many servings would this yield? TIA!

First, how many servings doese your client want?

Next, how is it going to be cut? Wedding cake size? Party size? Other? There are cutting charts that will tell you how many servings you will get for certain types of cuts.

That should give you the size of the pans you will need to use.

She only needs 35 servings. I always go by Wilton's chart, so maybe I can do a 6/9?

If she only needs 35 servings, a 7" square with a 6" round would do (less ledge space for animals though).

You could make a 9" or 10" sq base but make it only 1 layer (2 or 3" tall).  That one would be cut in 2x2x2" sqs = 16 or 25 servings.  The 6"x4" round would give you 20 servings (if I remember correctly!)
