I'm looking for an edible printer that is on the cheaper side but also of decent quality. I'm hoping to spend no more than 100-150 bucks at the most. Does anyone have any suggestions? Also, I would need this printer to have some kind of scanner on it as well..or if not a scanner, some kind of device plug in that I could upload pictures from.
THANKS!!!!
Lindy
1. You are looking for a printer that uses FOUR inks NOT 6 or 8. There are only 4 edible inks.
2. The printer should be connected to a PC or it has to accept a wireless signal from a laptop. The picture files come from there. Use software like Photoshop Elements that will come with your new printer, or use Paint to edit and compile pictures into printable finished images.
3. Please don't even try to scan to the printer because then you have no editing capacity...which ends up being used on most pictures.
Check the websites of where you want to buy your edible ink/paper. They would have a list of the kinds of printers that's compatible to their inks. A rep from IcingImages post here every now and then, you can check them out. I use Kopykake.
I bought a Cannon MP620 from Walmart for about $90 (was a few years ago -can't remember exactly, but it was under $100). I ordered edible ink from Icing Images that fit that printer (on their website it will tell you which cartridges go with what printer). There are so many different printers you can buy at a local store (Walmart, Staples, Target ...etc) that have edible ink cartridges that fit them, just make sure you look on the website of a supplier of edible inks before you purchase a printer to make sure it takes the same size cartridge.
