Hello everyone-

I have a extremely large order being shipped out from Ca to Fl next week of decorated sugar cookies with edible images. My question is first which do you think would ship best on the sugar cookies with a edible image.....fondant icing or RI? Which taste better? If using fondant do i get it to stick to the cookie with RI?

Also which do you think would be the best way to ship close to 100 cookies? Do you recommend the post office or UPS?

I appreciate all your time in helping answer any of these questions. Im not much of a cookie decorator more for cakes so im new to this whole shipping and decorating on cookies.

Thank you again :)

The most important thing to keep in mind when shipping cookies is that you don't want them to move around inside the package. While I only decorate in glaze, I've received both RI and fondant decorated cookies by mail. As long as they were securely packed, no problems.

I once shipped odd shaped cookies that I worried would break. I cut a cardboard shape that I used on the back of the saranwrapped cookie to add some extra strength. I then wrapped both in small bubble wrap. All the cookies arrived in perfect shape. I've always shipped Priority Mail and have had only positive results.

I know I didn't answer all your questions. I don't know if there's an advantage of RI over fondant for shipping, except that RI might be more likely to crack or crumble. I'd probably prefer the texture of fondant over RI, but that's all a personal preference.

Good luck!

I have mailed cookies to CA from PR using US Post Service... they take about 10 day to arrive. They make it fresh!!! All I had to do was wrap them airtight, lots of bubble wrap around the boxes and a big "FRAGILE" written on the side of the box... I have sent more than a hundred cookies without problem :)
