I got a last-minute cake order for a friend, and time and resources are both short!  I won't be able to get to the cake store or order something before the cake is due, so I need to work with what I've got.  I plan to make a fondant bow as a cake topper, so I need it to dry hard, or at least harder than usual.  I don't have any tylose powder but I do have a bag of CK's gumpaste mix.  What do you think - can I use this instead of tylose and have it dry hard enough for the bow to stand up?  Or do I need to actually make the mix and blend it with the fondant?  Just trying to save myself some time.  Thanks!

The mix takes about 2 minutes at the most to make, and you can use it right away. I would just use straight gumpaste, and not bother with the fondant.

Normally I would, but it's a black bow and I happen to have black fondant on hand.  Trying to mix black always comes out terrible for me!

i just knead cornstarch into fondant for bows

say 1/4 - 1/3 cup to one pound of fondant give or take

so all that to say sure anything from plain cornstarch to gumpaste mix should work fine
