Has anyone ever tried this method for Edible Metallic Glitter??

So I found a recipe for edible metallic glitter that uses "Gum Arabic" and luster dusts to achieve this. However, I cannot find this "gum arabic" anywhere.

 

I also found a recipe for edible glitter that basically just amounts to colored sugar crystals.

 

Wilton's Pearl Dusts are edible and FDA-approved (according to their website). I was wondering if anyone tried a combination of colored sugar crystals and pearl dust to achieve an edible glitter? I want something completely safe and edible, not for something to be removed.

 

Any input would be great! Thanks! :-)

gum arabic is available at global sugar art and most any cake deco store it comes in a mccormack type spice jar--small jar

 

at hobby lobby type stores you can get edible glitter that looks light as air--that is gum arabic

Pearl dust in sugar makes pretty sugar (depending on color), not glitter.
