Can anyone tell me how many pounds of Nonpareils (?) (those little colored tiny balls) I will need to cover an 8in round cake? I have just about a pound but not sure if that is enough and would hate to get only halfway through. Thanks.

Hi, I made a cake covered in them (it was an 8" with a 5" on top), and bought 9 of the little 65g tubs of sprinkles from the supermarket. I kept going back to the shop and getting more to make sure I had enough, but in the end I just used over one! That gave a good covering pressed into buttercream.
The lesson I learnt - they cover far more area than you'd expect!
