I am putting a silhouette of a singer on top of my cake and I want to add some very small black gum paste music notes so they appear to be coming out of the mouth. I want to use something very thin and almost transparent so the notes will appear to be floating out of his mouth. As I strive for using only edible items I was thinking of using very thin uncooked spaghetti. Does anyone have a better suggestion or should I just resolve and use wire? Thanking you in advance for your suggestions!

I am thinking the uncooked noodle would crack possibly .. Have you thought about isomalt ?
How about using colored gelatin cut into shapes of notes? Like this:

They would be really light weight. Affix them to transparent wire, such as
They and the singer are not going to be eaten, are they? However, I understand your wanting to use only edible things on cakes, so maybe you don't want to use wire.
How about transparent noodles (cellophane noodles):

I have no idea how strong they would be, but the gelatin notes would weight almost nothing.
I hope I die before "your" is the official contraction of "you are."
