Hi - just wanted to ask the more experienced bakers out there how I can make black fondant with food colors. I will eventually go out and get a tub of black and red ready made fondant, as I heard they are the hardest colors to achieve. Any suggestions will help. I am making 5 little mickey mouse hats for cupcakes - so this a very small batch.

AAirbrush. Or buy it already made. So not worth the headache.

Exactly what she said :)

I almost always airbrush, unless I am doing really small details that I am worried about not coating evenly, then I just buy pre-made black.

Even if you don't have an airbrusher, american colours sells cans of it ready to use, and they seem to work well.
