Egg Whites Vs Whole Eggs

ok... i am making cupcakes using box mix... but.. i didn't realize it says to use egg whites... not whole eggs, .. if i would use the whole egg, what would happen?? .. im kind of being lazy and i have no idea what to do with the left over yolks and dont wanna waste them... :/

AI often will use the while egg when one part is called for, on the rare occassion i make a box cake. Unless you want your cake white, it won't hurt anything really. If the box calls for 3 egg whites, I'll use 2 whole eggs. Boxed mixes are actually very forgiving, in my experience.

i was thinkin it was so the cake stayed white.. (its a white cake mix.. but i am going to turn the cupcakes different colors any ways )

it says 4 egg whites.. so .. 3 whole eggs shouldnt hurt anything??....
