AHi - I was wondering if anyone has used candy bars to make a chocolate ganache instead of semisweet chocolate chips (etc) - specifically the Cadbury dairy milk or Hershey's milk chocolate bars?

I have made it with the Hershey's 7oz(?) bars. I make Ganache in the Microwave.

Hi.  I usually use Hershey's Special Dark Chocolate and it turns out great.  I weigh it out so I can figure out how much cream to use.

Love LOVE the Dark Chocolate Ganache. I always *accidently* make extra just so we can eat by the spoonful (Guilty Pleasure shhh.gif)

I've used Cadbury Dream white chocolate bars to make ganache twice and both times it turned out great.

AI was going to experiment with some Dairy Milk last week but the bars are so tiny - where is my UK style 1kg bar!

bars always make better ganache than chips, no wax coating :) I use lindt bars for mine, but I have used the milk chocolate hershey bars before, and it turned out just fine.

AThanks everyone! I picked up 6 of the dairy milk bars yesterday (you can never have too much! Lol) I am very excited to try this. I'm glad to see some have had good success before!
