How do I make this kind of Cheetah Print on fondant

First,

If this is your cake you did a great job. Second can anyone tell me how to make the Cheetah Print that is on the purple tier of the cake. It looks like the fondant is kind of torn to achieve this, or is there some kind of special technique to do this. Any suggestions would really help.

it looks like pieces of black fondant were randomly torn and then placed on the cake.  Great cake!

I'm wondering if I would have to let the fondant dry out a bit, then tare it and then apply it.

Mabye if you have peony cutters of some sort you could use those to cut out the pieces? or other cutters with irregular scalloped edges? in my experience, teared fondant doesn't get that clean look with sharp edges.

I don't think it's torn. Tearing fondant gives pretty straight lines that just look rough. This looks like some kind of scalloped cutter used around the outside of the shapes.

Yes....those pieces are too neat to be torn.   Definately some sort of cutter.   Personally, I like the torn look.
