Selling big quantities of cupcakes!

Hello all,

I'm going to be selling cupcakes at an event for straight 6 hours. I was hoping if anyone can help me in figuring out this: How many cupcakes should I bake? can I bake them ahead and freeze them? what is the best way to display them while selling them? "the event will take place outdoors not indoors"

 

If also you have any links that you can share with information related to this project I would really appreciate it.

How many people will be attending? What time is the event? Where is it located? Which other food vendors will be there? Will the event be targeting a specific group? How much are you charging?

Have you tried freezing your cupcakes, and are they still good after being defrosted? This will vary depending on recipe.

no certain number of people, and no certain group of people targeted, it's like out in the street. it's from 7 am til 1 pm.

If you have no idea how many people will be attending then I'm not sure how anyone else can help you. Have you talked to the organizers of the event?

it's like a festival event, you know like for example a jazz festival on the street and there are people out there selling hot dogs. i'm doing the same thing. i'm renting a space and selling cupcakes on my own. 

and i'm just hoping that someone here can give me some guidance.

Yes Em...as Jason mentioned...if it is not a "First Annual" event......someone should have some numbers of expected attendance for the day.    I would really want that information before I baked my caboose off.  The good thing about cupcakes....if you run out, and have some spares baked & frozen at home..they will thaw super fast to slap on a swirl.

Ask the organizers what was last year's attendance.  Figure 10% of that number will buy dessert.
