Im making a cake for my neighbour and her friend requested a 'Mario cake'...unfortunately I dont know much about the character etc..Ive seen it on the cover of Wii games but thats all.

Ive looked at sooo many cakes online..and was wondering what are some of the key elements that can go on the cake?

-Mario himself?

-His brother? The one in the green?

-Ive seen red mushroom type things..what are those?

-Clouds ? Stars?

-what is that green tunnel/pipe thing he is seen popping out of?

I think I may have to buy the game to see it all...lol!!!

Anything else?

Also...any tutorials for making his face? I wanted to do 2D (laying flat down)...but I think he would like 3D...I can choose the design ..but she would like cake and cupcakes..

if there are any suggestions, or cakes you have loved for Mario..plz let me know.

Also..Mario and Super Mario is the same thing -right?

They sell the Mario figurines if you prefer.  You could use that and still create a cake with lots of hand made details

I made a Super Mario cake last year for one of my kiddos. I bought the toppers on Amazon..I know..don't judge me, I was due with baby #6 in a week people..I just didn't have the energy. I did make the brown gomba guys...still feeling guilty about having something not edible on a cake. icon_redface.gifPlease also excuse the fondant work, it was my 2nd fondant cake and trying to roll it out with that big ole belly wasn't pretty! icon_biggrin.gif
