Florida Cottage Food Law - Labeling

Hello Everybody -

 

I have been making cakes and cake pops for fun,  friends and co workers alike like them. Last week a co worker asked me to make some cake pops for her husbands birthday and insisted on paying me.

Because I don't want to break any laws I did some research and therefore am aware of the cottage food law here in Florida.

I think I understand the rules but am not sure about the labeling part.

As I mentioned I am just a hobby decorator and I am using box mixes and even prepared icings.... ( i know...)

Here is my question: Do I have to list ( copy) every ingredient or is it sufficient to state " chocolate cake mix" etc. on the food label?

 

Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance

it usually states something like "in order by weight" which means you have to put in each ingredient.

In WA you have to put in everything, including the ingredients of any mixes/etc, I would assume it's the same where you are.
