Hope someone can help me, I've decided to make my daughters next birthday cake, she has decided on a magic theme so thought a rabbit in a hat would be great.

Only one little problem - I've never made a birthday cake before!

I hope someone somewhere can give me step by step instructions on how to make it, thanks in advance x

Got this off of the internet:

 

Rabbit-in-a-Hat Cake

  • Create a three-dimensional rabbit-in-a-hat cake by stacking one nine-inch round cake on top of two eight-inch round cakes. Sandwich the layers together with frosting and cover the cake with chocolate frosting tinted black with black liquid food coloring to create the top hat. The rabbit may be created by baking cake batter in two 10 oz. custard cups and then gluing the cakes together with frosting to form a sphere for the rabbit's head. Add two oblong-shaped cookies covered in white frosting for ears. Instead of baking a rabbit cake, you can also use half of a chocolate bunny or attach a large bunny face cookie to a Popsicle stick and insert the stick into the center of the cake.

I'd first do google images of "rabbit in a hat cake."

It's better to start with a visual and work from there.

bake and ice your cake

 

find a suitable picture online and draw it on your cake
