Closing Business and need advice

I have decided to close my business after a year.  I am burnt out with trying to make cakes and take care of my family.  It has become something that is not fun and enjoyable.  I am going to do this as a hobby instead.  This is my question.  I have one more order due the end of April.  It is for a large wedding cake and 200 cake pops.  I don't want to do the cake.  Is it too late to cancel?  If not, how should I do it?  We have a contract.  If it is too late, I will do what is right and get it done.  Just need opinions.

You really need to honor this contract.
when j closed my wedding cake biz I actually found doing the last few cskes quite liberating.

Honor the contract. It is very unprofessional to leave the client in the lurch with such short notice.

I'm sorry you're closing your busniess...I know it had to be a hard decision to make. Do you know anyone else in the business that is equally or even more skilled than you who would be willing to take on the cake? If not, you have no choice but to fulfill the order.

Just wanted to say I finished my last cake yesterday until April.  Thank you for the advice.  Now I look forward to making that last cake in April.  I guess I am just burnt out!  Excited to make this a hobby.   Thanks for the advice. :)

With no more until April you will probably enjoy doing the wedding cake as you will have plenty of time to plan and enjoy making the decorations, rather than being under the pump.  Welcome to the world of the hobby baker.  It is a lot of fun.  You get to try what ever you like and if it doesn't work, Who Cares, you don't even have to tell anyone.
