Dumbbell cake - Help.!!

Hi,I was just wondering if anyone had any tips on how to cover this cake with fondant???

I would cover each round individually and then just stick them together.

Here is mine.  If you can tell, I have a seam on it.  I covered it like a cake laying flat and then flipped it over and did the same thing again.  Then I tried to blend the seam together with a fondant smoother.   I preferred this one much better,  if you can get away with this design.

What did you use for the pole in the middle?? Yours looks great.

When I did mine i also covered them separately and then stuck them together . I also cut the bottom flat so the sat better. I made my handle out of plastic doweling covered half of it with rice crispy's then fondant slid the uncovered doweling through the cake rounds to hold them together.

How did you get the bottoms perfect.?
I can never get the bottoms of my fondant to sit perfectly, I usually cover it with a bow or balls of fondant.
Where can I get rice crispys from.??

Sorry, I just realised that rice crispys are just rice bubbles lol.
