Hi guys, I currently use marshmallow fondant but i do not like it at all! It tastes better than the rest but doesn't hold up and tears easily. I am looking for a good, sturdy fondant recipe. Any tips are appreciated, thanks!!

Hi,
I have tried marshmallow fondant and a recipe that does not use marshmallow. Please look at Cake Supplies Plus at;
It is not as soft as the marshmallow one. I made it a few days ago but have not yet used it, but it might be what you need.

I've made this fondant and it was good. I am not sure where the recipe is from, could be from someone on cake central. There are many recipes here on CC, Michelle Fosters has good reviews but I have not tried it.

In a small saucepan,
put 1/4 c. cold water and sprinkle with 1 Tbsp. gelatin ( unflavoured)
Set aside for a few minutes to bloom.
In the meantime, place 2 lbs minus 1 cup sifted icing sugar in electric mixer bowl.
In a small bowl place
1/2 c. glucose,
1 Tbsp. glycerin, and
2 Tbsp. shortening
Place your gelatin mixture on the stove on medium heat and dissolve.do not overheat.
Add the contents of the small bowl.
Heat until shortening is about 90% melted.
Remove from heat and with mixer running, pour mixture into mixer bowl. Continue mixing until it forms a dough ball.
Turn out on to a board sprinkled with the some of the icing sugar from the 1 cup
Knead until smooth ,adding more icing sugar if too soft.
Wrap fondant tightly in cling wrap and place in air tight container, allow to rest for a day.
