starting from scratch
I think your question is vague. When you say "getting custom" does that mean you bake and decorate cakes and sell them but you need marketing advice? Have you determined if you can sell cakes legally from your home, from a bakery, from a commercial kitchen? The laws vary from state to state (or country).
Or do you mean you want to start from the beginning learning how to bake and decorate? If that's what you mean, try some cake recipes you can find on the web, look at a lot of YouTube videos about decorating, and learn by practice, practice, practice. If you have a specific question, we may be able to help you.
