Help! I made an MMF recipe that I have made in the past with no issues. Tonight, after rolling it out it started to look dry and leathery (like little lines all over). It was mostly at the end so I did not want to cause anymore by continuing to roll it and just put it on the cake. Now the MMF looks a little thick because it should have been rolled out more but that I am fine with. My issue is it looking dried and leathery in texture. Any quick fixes?

I've had this happen to me when I needed red fondant. I'm no expert but I read too much coloring can cause this. I slowly worked in corn syrup and it eventually was workable. Not the best, but workable. Hope that helps you a little. I think you can use glycerin if you have that on hand as well.

Crisco will do the trick! Just knead a bit into it then try rolling it again. Also, when you store it, put a nice thin layer of crisco all over the outside before you wrap it in plastic wrap. :)
