Finally, time for the fair. I am going to enter a cake in the decorated event. And possibly one in the taste trial one. As far as I can tell by what I am reading the only rules for the cakes ( decorated ones) is that they be on an aluminum covered board at least an inch bigger than the cake.

I am thinking of doing a stacked oval shaped cake with the tiers offset to look like stairs ( most likely a cake dummy) and covered in fondant and a cascade of gumpaste flowers down it. Or a drape/swag? I was going to make it basically a wedding type cake. If anyone has any good ideas shoot em on over here. I havent started it yet. I have till Monday and I have nothing else to do till then. Actually I am right on the county line between 2 counties and will most likely enter some things in both. I know one lady here did one for the fair with a fair theme...I thought of something like that. Any ideas will be appreciated! icon_biggrin.gif

Maybe do both. Do some gumpaste flowers and the drapes... that way you can show off all your pretty flowers and have some reallly nice drapes too icon_smile.gif
