How best to create baked beans in sauce for a cake? I want them shiny!

Hi anglazinellis

If its baked beans IN tomato sauce for a cake - try making the sauce by adding some reddish colouring to CLEAR  PIPING GEL- for a GLOSSY finish.

PME Arts and Crafts edible clear Glaze Spray is excellent for adding a high shine to finished gumpaste pieces - i.e. for hand made pellet size bean shapes, spray the beans once, allow to dry and give a second coat if required. However I dont think that spraying the beans is necessary if you are going to put them in them sauce.

Not sure this this an answer to your question.

Hope this helps!

I feel so much better now.  I'm no finicky eater, but that just sounded gross.  :)

Hmm. I wonder if the clear glaze spray would have worked to give my chocolate cake wrap on my smore's cake a shiny finish. I'll have to look into this.
