hi

I am planning on making this cake for my son's 7th birthday party this weekend.

Not really sure on how to make the nose and cheeks...would you just make balls of fondant and put them on the cake and top with folled fondant on top?  Obviously I will cover the cake first with the blue fondant and was then thinking of putting balls of fondant for nose and cheeks and then covering it with the flesh toned fondant for the face and working on the rest of it from there.

thanks in advance.

Michelle

put balls of fondant under the fondant you are using for the face.  So put balls of fondant together in the shape of nose and cheeks then lay face fondant over it and smooth around.  I did this to make Thomas the tanks' face  and it worked great!

thanks..thats what I thought...just thought of another question.

I usually get the size of the face from the pan that I use, but how do I know how much leeway (sp?) to give since I'll have to compensate for the cheeks and nose..should I just measure the face and inch bigger all around???

I hope that made sense  :-)

thanks!

I never really gave it any thought when I did thomas the train, I would imagine that an inch would be plenty and then just cut to size any excess! Good luck!
