I need to make a hennessy bottle shaped cake, how do I make the shape of the bottle and what color should I use for the bottom part for "the liquor" it self?

I watched some videos on youtube and I saw some beer bottles that were made with 6" cakes cut in half im wondering if that would work well with this bottle.

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated thank you

You have to carve it from a cake that is larger than the size you want the bottle to be. The cake should be frozen for easier carving. You should have a life size pic of the bottle for reference, if not the actual bottle. I would then cover it in either fondant, modeling chocolate or even buttercream tinted to the color of the liquor (looks brownish orangish) and have an edible image made of the label. If that is not an option, then you can always draw the label on a sheet of edible paper.

good luck!

ASo many questions. What type? Flat to view? Standing up?

This is a crown royal I did http://www.verydeliciousdesserts.com/#!Crown-Royal/zoom/c11wr/image1bxr

I hand painted with reds & browns to get the liquor color.

AI copied & pasted the image then enlarged it to the side I needed. Once printed, I taped then together toama the template. I put the template on the cake & cut!

I mixed a few shades of food coloring with water & applied in coats to get the color I wanted. I didn't use in dusts.
