I am making a toilet cake for my friend's husbands 40th birthday. I want the lid to be edible so I was thinking of making it out of a hardened ganache, then covering in fondant. Has anyone done this? I'm not sure what the ratio of choc to cream should be and I/m also not sure what I can pour the chocolate on so that it wont stick? I figured if i did a square of ganache while it was hardening I could trace out the shape of the lid and then let it set the rest of the way. Any thoughts? Thanks so much, I am new to cake decorating and this site.

not ganache--solid chocolate would work with or without fondant covering
and/or gingerbread (cookie type gb) if you want to cover with fondant
make the gingerbread with honey instead of molasses for strength that will stand up against humidity
(i can't believe i'm being a party to a potty cake ;)
good luck with it!
