Moon Cake??

Thread Starter

I need to make a full moon cake and I was planning on using Styrofoam for the bottom half and cake for the other. I need it to serve 50 people and was wondering what would be best to use a 10in or a 12in to get the correct servings. Any help is appreciated :)

If I did this correctly, the volume of a 12" sphere is 904.78" cubed. Divide by half and it is 452.39" Cubed. Divide by 8 (the volume of a wedding sized serving) and you get 56.55. So, about 56 slices per half of a 12" sphere.

I would rather make 1 cake for $150, than 3 for $50 each.

My sarcasm is good-humored. People generally really like me, in person ;-)
