Hello! I decorate cakes and cookies as a hobby for fun and my friend really liked some cookies I did recently and asked if I would make them as favors for her wedding that is in 2 months... Now nobody has ever asked me to do anything like this before and I dont know what I should ask her to pay. She will have about 60 people and she wants 2 cookies per person wrapped in gift bags with ribbon. The cookies are simple sugar cookies with royal icing and hand painted pea**** feathers, kinda time consuming! She is my friend and I dont want this to be weird but she did offer to pay me... advise please!!!

AIf you accept money for an order you'll need to make sure you are licensed in your area first. Depending on where you are you may be able to get a home bakery license, or you may have to rent a licensed and inspected commercial kitchen.

Once you are licensed, you can set a price by adding up the ingredient costs, labor costs, and overhead (such as license fees) on a per-order basis, then adding an additional markup to match the market value in your area. You will probably need to do some market research to determine this.

Depending on where you are and how time-intensive the decorations are you will probably be in the $2-6/cookie range.
