hello everyone! i once read a discussion about keeping the cake moist by spraying it with sugar syrup. but, i forgot the recipe and i cant find the thread anymore! will anyone pls share your recipe? do you add vodka or other alcoholic beverages? if yes, how much? how many days can it keep the cake moist and fresh? how about the storage of the cake with syrup? thanks in advance for the recipe!
AYou can try using apricot glaze on top of your cake as soon as it comes out of the oven. To make apricot glaze, put some water on any apricot jam, heat it up and as soon as it starts to boil take it out, then sieve. Or you can try other products such as sweet rose water, simple syrup use for ****tails, usually you can find these products on any store selling liquor. The amount of simple syrup you want to use, depends on your taste. I have used about 1/4 c. Either by spraying or brushing, and that to include the sides of the cake. Good luck.
AEqual parts water and sugar. Sometimes I add a little flavoring depending on type of cake. I used a little cocoa doing a chocolate cake last week.
AI enjoy adding other flavors to simple syrup to intensify the flavor.
Mint leaves Cinnamon sticks Lemon extract Any extract Vodka for liquor flavored cakes
