Help!!don't Know How To Make This Cake!!!!

Hello everyone! :) I have an order for a cake to match this one down to the tee, I am confidant I can decorate however, my one concern

 

 

 is making the box lids! I have no clue to make achieve that look on a stacked cake like this one. Can anyone please help I'm desperate and the order is for 2 weeks from tomorrow. Thank you!

AYou might also check out the Advanced Fondant course on Craftsy, a lot of the techniques on this cake are covered in this class.

I've done open lids with a single layer covered in fondant.  Is it possible these lids are styrofoam covered in fondant for greater stability?

I've done more of these than I can count.  And yes, that's the best thing to use because it's the lightest. To OP, it also helps to put 2-3 dowels in to hold up the lid and a "smoosh of fondant with a little tylose glue or even water to secure it.  If you don't dowel it, the weight of the lid can squish the cake down and cause the fondant to ripple.
