Kind of like this to an extent. You'll want your base color a really light brown, like blonde almost. For maximum effect, you'll want to indent lines to mimic individual planks of wood. Then you can airbrush or paint over with a slightly darker brown, getting into the grooves you indented. Before it dries. take a paper towel soaked in vodka and wipe it away, in the direction of the planks. Might need to do it a couple of times, cause it will get gummy, but keep using a pretty wet paper towel. Soon you'll have streaks that will look wood grain, and your darker color will have stayed in the grooves that you made.

I. Love. Making. Wood. Floors.

And yes, it will be gummy and gooey for awhile, but leave it alone and it will dry up solid within a couple of hours, or overnight. I think I waited til the next day actually before I started painting.
