HI ALL! I have a very important cake this weekend (not only is it a baby shower cake, but it's also a gift from me to the mom-to-be).
It's a 3 tier, and she requested a banner on the front that reads "Goodbye Belly, Hello Baby Olivia". Im so excited, but that's a lot of letters on a banner. I cut them small with a cricut, and made the banner in advance bc thats a lot of letters, and now I'm afraid bc its big (2" x 4" or so) that when I apply it to the side of the tier its going to slide down. This has happened to me before. Does anyone have any suggestions or tips on getting larger banners or decorations to fit?
I made the banner out of 50/50 gp and fondant. Cake will be covered in fondant. I can't place the banner elsewhere bc she sent me a pic of the cake she wanted....so i feel i have to put it on the top tier, on the side. Thanks so much for any advice.
I agree with savannahquinn, melted chocolates will probably work best. If it still seems a bit heavy you might want to give some extra support with toothpicks placed under the banner.
I will absolutely try the candy melts but i LOOOVE the idea of the toothpicks. Genius!! Thanks all!
