Can someone please help me? Am making a WASC cake for a babyshower, but the mom does not like any fruit filing. Can anyone tell me what would pair well with a WASC cake besides strawberry and raspberry filing? Thanks!!! I would really appreciate it.

I use natural extracts whenever possible==look for Boyajian brand almond extract at Whole Foods because it is the best I have ever tasted. I would flavour the buttercream with almond extract by just mixing it in, about 1/4 teaspoon per 2 cups icing. Or to taste. You can add half the vanilla when you mix the buttercream, and add more vanilla to the covering icing. Of course you will be using natural vanilla--McCormick's is good.
For amaretto cake, I would also sprinkle the layers with the liqueur (no syrup) like about an ounce per 9" round. FYI it will show up because it is kinda dark.
Or mix non-alcoholic amaretto syrup from an Italian grocery right into the buttercream, adding to taste ebcause I think the brands will differ in strength.
