The first thing that comes to mind is to do an 8" or 9" for the bottom and a 6" on top. Then make little cheerleaders out of fondant and arrange them around each layer (standing up). Here is a link on how to make the cheerleaders:

Hope this made sense.

If you want an easy way out, you could just do a sheet cake and then on top of that do the Wilton Bear cake dressed up as a cheerleader. Just another idea.

Also, I found this link which was cute.

You could also do either megaphone buttercream transfers or megaphone cookies with each of the names of the girls. Sorry, I'm brainstorming. I was a cheerleader once ions ago back in the dark ages, actually it was in the eighties.

Here's a cute idea for a cheerleader cake. You could do a square or hex base cake, then stack it with a smaller round on top and put the cheerleaders on the top and up the side of the round cake.

Even if you don't use the fondant and wilton cut-outs, this is an adorable idea!

I am the cheer coach for my daughter's team. Last year I did a photo cake of the team's picture. I think a cute idea for a stacked cake would be to do a 10,8, and 6 inch rounds. You could decorate each tier with pom-poms, megaphones, footballs, etc. You could get a cheerleader figurine and put it on the top tier. I have bought a cheerleading cake kit at my local cake supply store. Right now you could probably find something at Michael's or Hobby Lobby because they have lots of stuff out for Homecoming.

Hi Msty112

There are several ideas for cheerleader cakes on the following forum topic that could easily be adapted to a tier cake. http://cakecentral.com/cake-decorating-ftopict-7186.html
The cheerleader cake at Cinda's Creative Cakes done with the 3-D Cuddly Bear Pan or the one made by ntertayneme http://www.cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=coppermine&file=displayimage&meta=allby&member_id=4769&cat=0&pos=25#
would both adapt easily to a tiered cake.
