These beautiful roses were made out of MARSHMALLOW/ Boiled Icing. Ive tried and ive tried to get my flowers as beautiful as this but these but it never works out. The wilton recipe has the nice shine but its so sticky that by the time i fight to get it off the nail its nothing close to a flower. The egg white recipe is light and easier to get off the nail but is not a shiny and smooth as the wilton recipe. I think that the cake in the above picture was done using the wilton recipe. I also cannot get my colors as deep as these. After whipping the end result is always a pastel, no matter how much coloring I add. If anyone has any tips please help. My customers are asking for this recipe but i have yet to provide something i feel is presentable or able to rival the work in the above pic, and no i cannot ask the person who made this because they are my competition.

you can experiment by adding a touch of black icing (black color already mixed into a small amount of icing) to enhance your colors to go deeper

as for the shine it's just in how you make your icing

all i can think of is

it's a keep practicing type of thing

i've gotten real shiny roses when my icing was too warm to use but i can't say i've ever looked to get my piped roses shiny

wish i knew something else for you

you are adding butter to these icings yes???
