Can we cover the sides of the cake with wilton's sugar sheets?

Help please!

planning to write on the sheet with markers first and then cover it. Will this work?

Sure, I've done it before.  I just smoothed the buttercream and it stuck right to it - I closed the seam with piping gel.  If you're covering the cake in fondant you may need some water or piping gel to get it to stick.

Yes, ............BUT, those sugar sheets can be tough to cut if put on a crusting buttercream and..........they taste awful.

Personally, I'd cover the cake in fondant and write on that after it's dried a bit.
