Hi all

I am new to this community and this is my 1st posting.

I would like to seek some advice regarding whoopie pies.

I have baked 4-6 batches of whoopie pies using recipes from several books. Most of the time the top pie cracked. In some cases, the top pie cracked pretty heavily.

Any advice on how to prevent such cracks and how to make smooth whoopie pie?

Thanks in advance!

ASometimes cakes and such crack at the top bc they were baked too fast. Try lowering the temperature so it'll cook slower....like 25° lower.

It sounds like your oven temperature is off or that you need better bakeware.  You should probably double up on the sheets you're using to bake them, and scale back the temperature as the previous person suggested.
