Lot of writing on the cake?

Help. I need to write on the sides of the cake. Almost a short story, what shall I use to write. Marker, buttercream, sugar sheet and then transfer it to the cake?

I wrote a love letter of sorts on a cake last year for V-day. I traced it out freehand on the fondant covered tiers, and went back over it with a paintbrush and black gel color.

If you're good at writing/piping, my vote is buttercream.  It's quick and easy.

HOW TO:
Make tip #127D (giant rose tip) Ruffle cake,
Write with icing,
Make buttercream roses on a stick:

I have tried the buttercream before, thats a very good option, but the thing is it is lot of writing . may be 10 -12 lines all around a 10" circle cake. so looking for simple option.

Gosh, that IS a lot of writing...  would printing it off on an edible sheet be an option for you?

I would use an edible marker, i wrote the elvish script around the sides of the lord of the rings cake  i posted using this method, just make sure the fondant is dry first.
