AHello fellow ccers :D

I'm new to cake central and am loving the website so far. What I was wondering was what do you guys think about my cakes? How much would you charge for them? You can see everything on my CC account. Everything there is made by me ( I have seen that ccers definitely don't take a liking to copycats and thiefs.) Another question I had was what is the price difference between frosted and fondant cakes? I've heard that you can charge a lot more for fondant cakes.

Happy Baking ;-D :cake:

Cameron, if your facebook personal site is not 'public' you can't link to it and expect people to see the photos.

On Cake Central, the easiest way to get feedback on your cakes is to keep posting cake photos into your own gallery photos. They will appear in the home page photos and people will comment and 'like' them if they do like what they see.

Re: pricing, there are hundreds of threads here on CC about how to price cakes, but ultimately it comes down to the cost of your raw ingredients, ultilities and rent use, material supplies, insurance, legal costs and your own wages. No-one can give you numbers on 'what to charge'. If you work up your costs, and consider demand in your area, you will quickly find out how much more you can charge for a fondant cake.

The other thing is that pricing should not be an issue for you if you are not operating a legal cake business. I'm sorry these are not the answers you want, but its important to know ALL the legalities of selling cakes in your town, city, state and country before you can sell your baked goods.

Keep practicing and post your photos in the galleries! You have some good basic skills that will only improve with practice and experience :-)  Good luck!

Thanks for the insight Evoir. icon_smile.gif I'm only 16 so i'm nowhere near becoming a professional decorator yet. I was just wondering what people thought of my cakes other than my friends and family. As for the pictures, I just posted them on CC right now. so now you can take a look at them and tell me what you think. sorry for all the link troubles

AFor 16, I think you show a lot of promise. I especially like that you use a bit of restraint when it omes to decorating, and not just throwing everything you have at a cake, which novices often do! Your flowers are neat, and in time you will learn to get them looking more refined and realistic. There are lots of masters you can learn from, in books and video, as well as taking decorating classes.

Is this your passion? Will you study in this area (eg pastry arts )? There is so much opportunity for you ahead, and I wish you all the best :-)

AThank you very much :) it means a lot to me. This is my true passion. I eat, sleep, and breath baking. I'm on YouTube videos constantly, I just graduated from taking all four Wilton cake decorating classes a couple weeks ago. I'm already graduated from high school. When I find the right college I'm going to major in pastry arts :) thanks again for your feedback Evoir
