Transfer Delicate Lace (Cricut) To A Cake?

AI have finally been playing with the cricut - and while I have success at getting clean cuts i am failing miserably. At transferring them onto a cake without tearing! - I have searched for a video or tutorial but am not finding anything ....any help / advice is greatly apriciated

ASometimes I freeze gumpaste decorations before applying to the cake if they are awkward to handle. It solves a lot of problems.
