I'm making a Tiffany box cake with a bracelet coming out of it, and I need to make this bracelet. I think the best way to get a perfect charm would be to use a mold, but not having the real thing to cast the mold from, I'm wondering if anyone knows of a ready made silicone tiffany mold I can buy online?
Thanks,Katie
no i don't know where to find that and if tiffany knew where to find it it'd be gone!
but if you want to go for almost perfect
you can easy peasy make that and print the wording out on a printer & edible paper
or
pipe it on if you incease the scale--make it bigger than actual size
(i cannot pipe that small but maybe you can but I would need it bigger)
just roll 'snake' shapes, cut same size sections, form into a paper chain, make a heart
is that what you mean
picture of chain i made from fondant for a purse cake
Wow that's a good chain!
Hmm, I was wanting something more precision than piping (which doesn't have the straight edges of their machine font), and more 3d than a printed image...... engraved rather than raised likepiping.
Printing a photo isnt a bad idea though.
I'll keep thinking.
Thanks,katie
hey--i got it--you need to find some old typewriter keys!!!!
that might work
but that's three different sized fonts too
ver tall order
because
even if you find the corrrect fonts etc
getting the fondant or whatever material to take the impression that crisply will also be a challenge
maybe marzipan or chococlay would be crisper
it could easliy come out rounded
and
piping can def have the straight edges if one is very accomplished at it
i myself tend to stay far away from such accomplishment that small
oh--'nuther idea--just to help create the illusion--less than perfect but doable and close
so
make your heart charm set, pipe the lettering aside
roll a flat piece of fondant and cut out the same size heart but flat
then center a just smaller heart cutter on that and cut it out, discard the center
now you have an outline to place around the wording so it has the appearance of being recessed
again not perfect but increases the illusion factor--maybe need to make the heart a bit bigger to accomodate
tiffany wishes and heart thoughts for you
i have these and ALWAYS forget to stamp my cookies
as in
i NEVER remember
~grr~
they are kind of a bear to work with too
This is what I managed to achieve for the Tiffany charm........took ages to do the artwork for the stamp but finally got there.
If anyone would like to borrow one for a Tiffany cake, I'm selling a few spares!
