Bakery Cake Sizes

Thread Starter
I noticed that most bakeries will only carry round cake sizes in 6” 8” 10” 12” etc…. Is there a reason bakeries do not carry the 9” ?

If a bakery is selling single tiers only then it's to simplify their product line, since there isn't that much of a difference between 8" and 10" rounds. But if they make custom multi-tier cakes then they probably would offer a 9" round as a tier option.

We do both tiered cakes and single tiers, and only do cakes with 2" increments.
