Can anybody pleeeease help?

I was looking for a recipie for a good vanilla cake for carving and stacking, I found one not in the recipie section but in a thread, I have looked and looked trying to re trace my footsteps.

It was the best cake EVER, amazing, moist, dense but not heavy baked so even it barely needed levelling and the taste wow.

And now I can't find it, what I can remember was that it was a variation on WASC and it used Duncan Hines mix plus sour cream, water, SR flour I think one egg and 2 or 3 egg whites, there were some other ingredients I am sure but I can't remember them, and it was so simple dump everything in the bowl and mix.

I appreciate that there are many versions of WASC on here and they have good reviews but I would really like to find this one again it is incredible.

Thanks for taking the time to read this I hope someone recognises it.

I don't exactly recognize that. I do use self rising flour though. Well but come to think of it I do use like a combination of egg and whites for white cake. I'm sure it was not my recipe but here is mine with all due respect and acknowledgement to our original beloved WASC genius.

2 white cake mix

2 c self rising

2 c sugar (fine granulated is best)

2 2/3 c water

1/4 c oil

2 t. flavoring

2 c sour cream

8 eggs or whites or a combination thereof (I'd probably use 6 whites and two whole eggs)

For what it's worth. Hope you find the one you want.
