My SIL asked me to make some cookies for my nieces 14th birthday.  She has no suggestions at all on shapes or patterns, other than the colors: lime green and purple.  Does anyone have any great ideas?  I am considering some paisley pattern or maybe animal print?  I am not a pro, but I am pretty handy with cookies.......no kopykake though .....so must be free-handable.  Haha-making up words as I go along.  Thanks for any input and hope you all have a fabulous holiday season.

An idea for you is to loosen up a bit of the cookie dough with milk or water to make it of piping consistency. Then apply some or all of the design to the unbaked cookie. Test it on one cookie to see how much it spreads so you know how this goes for you. Then you can apply more decor afterwards to bring out and enhance the rest of the design.

Like if you did the animal print onto the unbaked cookie then outlined it in black after it was baked. Or with the paisley you could do the general shape then do the finer dots and squigglies after they're baked. And you could make this overlap the sides of the cookie too if you wanted. Although green and purple animal print is a rare breed I'm sure you could pull it off!!! Dr. Seuss would dig it!!!!

Just a cookie thought.

And I mean you can color the pipe-able cookie stuff different colors to make all the background and design you want.

I did these cookies for my niece's birthday party and all of her friends absolutely loved them! You could do something like this and they are super easy!

It was for a rock star party. Here is the link for the tutorial. You can change the colors and shapes to whatever you want. I think they would look really awesome! That animal print is using an edible paper that you just buy at walmart or any craft/baking store and apply to royal icing underneath. You can also likely get them online from amazon or something if you have time to wait for shipping.

Hope this gives you an idea you could use!

Iz, you know you could! Come on, a rectangle cookie? Then thin some cookie dough as I mentioned above, add chocolate pipe some weirdy stripes for zebra, or pipe backwards 'c' shapes with the choco then mix some white into the choco bowl to make a lighter shade and put a dot inside each of the 'c' shapes--for leopard. Bake--you know you can do this!!! Just do the outside cover of the phone first time. We can work on the screen side next time!!!

If you can do cheesecake I know you can pop out some cookies--buy the cookie dough to practice with maybe.

Best baking to you!

Cheesecakes do not take any artistic hand.Sure you have to have an imagination to make new flavs and make them look awesome, but some of the stuff I am seeing on this page blows my mind with how awesome everyones hands are.You guys amaze me and I am going to get to that level eventually lol.I have done many cakes in my time but none that can matchup to anything on this site yet... When I do i will be the first to post the pic of it lol.
