I just purchased the "Food Safe" Amazing Putty from HL, and want to make my own molds for chocolate clay figurines and other small items to put on top of cupcakes and cake pops. I have watched a few youtube videos about the stuff, and have worked with putty in the past. My questions are these...
What have you learned from in the past in using small items as far as how thin they can be? I have a few rattles from my party supply store that I want ti use, but the handles are really thin and dainty. So how should I go about these?
I have heard about the cookie cutter method, do you use this yourself, or can I just mold around the item and wait the amount of time?
When using chocolate clay, how long do I need to let it set before removal? Refrigerate? Freeze? What do you do?
I have seen how much these things can cost, and I figure I can save myself alot of $$$ by making my own. I won't use gumpaste or fondant, but have been making MMF, how well does this work?
Thanks in advance.
