Sorry guys, we have to crack down on mixing instructions: recipe ingredients = OK... instructions = NOT ok.

I don't get it?

I would rather make 1 cake for $150, than 3 for $50 each.

The person who works for nothing will always have plenty to do!

My sarcasm is good-humored. People generally really like me, in person ;-)

I don't get it? Could you please explain?

The person above posted a recipe that had ingredients and mixing instructions. I deleted the mixing instructions.

Anna, lists of ingredients are not necessarily copyrighted but the directions are copyrighted.

Yeah, I got that it had happened, I didn't know why. Thanks Kate.

Oh sorry, yes ingredients are OK to post, but directions are not because of possible copyright violation.  Even if you re-word it or it's an original recipe, we (mods) are supposed to remove them.

Oh wow, that sounds like a big job, lol. What about in the recipe section? Are we still allowed to post mixing instructions there? Seems like the mixing is pretty vital to how your final product comes out...

Yes.  I don't know what the difference is, but apparently there is a difference legally.  The recipe section is not an area I'm involved with.

If you want to post a recipe as part of a thread, you can post the ingredients then post a link to an outside source for mixing instructions.  This is OK.

I am continually awed by the lengths one must go to in this world we live on...
