Trying Again. Holiday Cupcake Ideas Needed, Please

I am making WASC cupcakes, iced with SMBC, flavored with my homemade lemon curd for an adult Christmas party at our boat club. Does anyone have any cool ideas for decorating these to look festive and maybe a bit more sophisticated than your average cupcake? Thank you so much in advance. :)
Sorry in advance for my english..Somme little Santa Claus in sugar paste, with swimsuit and sunglasses, and a wing behind, always in sugar paste, sunbathing on the top of cupacakes, as it he were on the top of a boat..
You might want to search on the Cake central galleries or do a Google Image search....there are TONS of ideas :)
Whenever I do Lemon, I like to decorate them with a generous coat of sanding sugar so they will be sparkly, and a curl of lemon peel on the top. I think the look is very adult and the sugar is glittery and festive enough for a party. maybe a mint leaf sticking out of the top, too?
Thanks. I did search through Google AND the galleries. I really didn't find what I was looking for and thought I would ask here.
I ended up using white and yellow sanding sugar and white sugar stars atop each cupcake. I'll post a pic when I get them set up at tonights party. Thanks to all!
