I'm thinking probably for couple of weeks or so. I did also hear that people do it, but I wasn't sure can I just use an airtight container or a ziplock bag is better.
I freeze batter all the time, I freeze in ziplocks and it keeps for a couple of months . I find my cakes actually rise better , and come out more level after the mix has been frozen.
I just usually bring it back to room temp before I use it.
