Hi-
Does anyone know what a sandwich loaf is? I can remember getting one at a bakery in Minnesota & it is a long loaf of white sandwich bread torted into 3 layers and filled with sandwich spread (egg salad, tuna salad...). Anyway- my question is the cream cheese icing that is used to frost it. It cannot be sweet, and you would need a consistancy to be able to frost the loaf & decorate with flowers & writing. Does anyone know where I can find a recipe for that icing?
It may sound weird but if you like those sandwich fillings & cream cheese you will LOVE this ! I think it may have been popular in the 50's or 60's when ladies would lunch together.....
Thanks so much!!!

Mish...you took me down memory lane...they were a big thing....and I had a few of them...and really thought they were nice for a lunch...I remember one in particular...shrimp salad was one of the fillings used and it was great.
